Does Uber Eats deliver after midnight?
Yes, as long as a restaurant near you is still open on the app. Uber Eats has no closing time of its own, so you can order at 1 AM or 3 AM, but only from kitchens that are still taking orders and only if a courier is working nearby.
Each restaurant sets its own hours. Uber's guide for restaurant partners says a store is searchable and available to customers during its store hours, and a store that goes offline shows as "currently unavailable." Once the places near you close, they drop out of your choices.
Couriers are the other limit. Uber tells them they can start delivering whenever they want and turn requests on and off. How many are out at 3 AM depends on who chooses to work, so a restaurant can be open with few couriers nearby.
How late is too late for Uber Eats
There's no single cutoff. It's too late once the restaurants near you have closed or stopped taking orders, and that changes by city, neighborhood and night of the week. Hours vary by location, even within one chain.
Ordering in the last few minutes before close is the riskiest move. Uber's help center lists a courier finding the store unexpectedly closed on arrival as one reason orders get cancelled. Stores also cancel when they run out of an item or get swamped, and Uber says you won't be charged when the store cancels.
To improve your odds:
- Search with your real address, since the list changes by area.
- Order well before the posted close.
- Have a second choice ready in case your first pick goes offline.
Late Night Food Spots gives each listing an "Order by" time, half an hour before the kitchen stops cooking.
