Late Night Food Spots for your phone

Late Night Food Spots works as an app on your phone: add it to your home screen and it opens full screen in one tap, straight to what's open right now. It's free, needs no account or app store, and keeps your saved spots and recent pages working when the signal drops.

App questions

Is the Late Night Food Spots app free?

Yes. The app is this website added to your home screen, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to download from an app store. Installing it costs nothing and so does using it. Your phone keeps a small copy of the pages you open so they load faster, and you can remove the app at any time the same way you remove any other icon.

Do I need an account to use the app?

No. There is no sign up and no login. Saved spots are kept in your browser's storage on this phone, so they don't follow you to another device, and clearing your browser data empties the list. On iPhone the home screen app keeps its own list, separate from the one in Safari. We never ask for your name, email or phone number to use the app.

Does the app work offline?

Partly. The main list, your saved spots and the pages you opened recently, about 60 of them, are kept on your phone. With no signal they show the hours from our last check, and the open and closed badges keep updating from your phone's clock. Travel times, Order links and the open or closed reports need a connection, so they are hidden until you're back online.

Does the app track my location?

Only when you ask. Tap Use my location and your phone asks for permission first, or type an address instead. Your location is used to work out walk and drive times and is kept in this tab's session storage until you close it. We don't save it to our database, link it to you, or check it in the background.
